If you are an
amateur and you are planning on playing in any official amateur events
held by other associations, then you can only accept gift cards valued
at no more than $750. So even though the prize money may be greater,
if you receive cash period or a gift card valued at more than $750 you
will be considered a pro player at that time according to USGA and you
will lose your amateur status. If you do not plan on playing in any
major amateur events or events held by PGA or USGA then you do not have
to worry about it. So if you are planning on keeping your amateur
status please let us know when you fill out the contact form and also
send an email to your Division rep letting them know.
